Gluten Free Rice Krispies

Kelloggs had said there were no plans to bring these to Canada and suddenly here they are! Safeway and Superstore are carrying them so far. Superstore has a great sale on this week $3.97 (regular $5.69 I think) each limit of 4. BUT stop at the coupon board and pick up the 'buy 3 kelloggs cereals and get $3 off' coupon. It brings the boxes down to $2.22 each (if you buy 4 at a time). For those of you buying gluten free you know how cheap that is for any gf product! I went in and out of the store 3 times and got 12 boxes. I may yet go back again!

These taste just like the 'real' ones, are made with brown rice and still go "snap crackle pop" much to the delight of my kids. Im so excited that my son can still experience the simple joy of a rice krispie square!

***Update Dec 29/11...I guess Zellers was losing too much money and has changed the coupon terms....now it is only valid on REGULAR priced items. Too bad! Pots!

The Bay has a HUGE 1 day sale (Today Nov 22/11 only!) on Zwilling J.A. Henckels TruClad Pots!! I missed this sale by 1 day last year and have refused to replace my falling apart pots since...until now!! Regular $999.99 on sale for $299.99 plus you get a Roaster for free ($239.99 value!). I was so excited I drove directly to the Bay and got a set! Ive had the same pots for over 9 years and believe me when I say it was time for new ones!
I went to the Southgate Bay (Edmonton) and they still had lots left at 2pm. If youre in the market for new pots I highly recommend these. I have their knives (the '2 man' ones) and they are amazing. These pots are 18/10 Stainless Steel with 2.8mm Sigma Clad 3 ply construction.
Im so excited to cook something in them now! Too bad supper is already planned and it doesnt involve pots :(

Sale!

Superstore is having an AMAZING sale on the Graco Nautilus! Save $140!
This seat goes up to 65lbs and fairly tall as a 5 point harness (NOTE! This is NOT a rear facing seat!) and then converts to a high hack booster and then a backless booster. These seats rarely go on for this good of a sale and I definitely didnt expect to see one now. I just bought a True Fit otherwise I would be rushing into Superstore right now! Although we have 2 vehicles so Im still pretty tempted lol!
If you need a forward facing carseat/booster now is the time. I have a feeling they will sell out quickly...so go NOW!

Product Review

I LOVE Envirosax Bags! They roll up super small so they fit in your purse/diaper bag, but they expand really big! They can hold up to 44lbs...technically I could fit my 2.5 year old in one!!
I have the Sesame Street ones, and I always love the look the cashier give me when I whip out Elmo to put my groceries in :) I'm not ashamed to still be a kid at heart!

My favourite bag!

They come in so many different styles that you're sure to find a set that suits your tastes. The Sesame Street set is Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and Grover. But they have an Animal Planet series, a Heritage Pepsi series and so many other designs.
They also come in a SlingSax version (more like a purse), MiniSax for lunches etc. and an Organic Cotton Line. No matter which style you choose, it's definitely an environmentally friendly option :)

This is how small they roll up!

What have I used them for? Everything! Swimming (2 kids and one adult worth of stuff!), laundry (5 days of vacation laundry for 2 adults and 2 kids), extra things that don't fit into the diaper bag, overnight bag, groceries, library books, sand toys etc. etc. They come in handy in so many ways. Because they roll up so small I always have one and I don't have to pay for bags at the store, and they fit so much more then a plastic grocery bag anyways! They can also be tossed into the washing machine and they come out good as new (hang to dry!).

Another idea is to use them in place of wrapping paper! Here is a little YouTube video about how to do it. A really neat alternative to paper gift bags or paper.


The BEST part about the bags I have? I got them on BabyHalfOff, so I paid half price :) They come up often on other Deal a Day sites as well, but BabyHalfOff is the only one I've ever seen that's had the Sesame Street Series. If you keep your eye out, you can always get any them for a great deal!

If anyone is in the market for a carseat Toys R Us has their First Years True Fit on for $99.98 down from $199.99!!
This is a great carseat and will truly last your child from birth (should you choose to not use a bucket seat) to boostering age (and I dont mean the measly minimum of 40lbs...I mean really ready for a booster: physically ready to withstand an accident in an adult seat belt and mature enough to sit still and leave the seat belt exactly where it needs to be, not reaching for toys etc.). The forward facing weight limit is 65 pounds and the height depends on your childs torso length, but somewhere around 50+". The headrest comes off for rear facing an infant under 22lbs (saves a lot of space with the 45° angle needed for little babies!) and with the headrest on the rear facing weight limit is 35lbs (and its able to be moved up to a 35° angle for older babies)!!
This is a very tall seat and is fairly plush and padded. Its a great deal if you are needing to replace a seat or need an extra one!

***As you can tell Im fairly opinionated on carseat safety (rear facing, 5 point harness etc.) HOWEVER I am not trying to start arguments. Im not harping on anyone, just expressing my opinions and telling you about a GREAT sale! Even if you dont agree with my opinions (which if you do some reading on the subject and realize how many benefits in an accident there is to rearfacing longer and keeping them out of boosters as long as possible you might just change your mind) its still a great sale on a good seat regardless of how long you use it :)***

Cherries...Cherries and more Cherries!

If you are in Edmonton and want cherries get to H & W Produce this week. Their BC cherries are on for $1.29/lb or 18lbs for $19.99!! I bought 2 cases (36lbs!). Needless to say Im going to be busy pitting, canning freezing and of course making pies for the next few days! Im so excited to have so much fruit in the freezer for the long boring winter which would normally only have bananas and apples :)
